Main Task - Shooting Diary [Day 4]

FRIDAY 22ND OCTOBER 2010

We filmed for another hour and a half after school, and gained another set of footage that we needed. The assembly was all finished, but no-one had tidied up, so we decided to leave the chairs and stage blocks, but take out all the benches, music stands, and move the piano back. This way, we could keep the continuity, but give ourselves more scope in terms of where and what we shoot.

Isobel had worked on the emotion, but it still wasn't believable, which was frustrating. It may mean that, once editing, we have to do a lot of cutaways to try and get what we want.

We tried to be slightly more creative today, by using a lot of long shots, and attempting some crane-like shots from the balcony. It worked well, but we did have a few issues with one of the cameras, which was missing a spare battery pack and charger, so we were only able to use one.

Again, we were asked to leave before we could finish the shooting we needed. With it being half term next week, we now face a big challenge of trying to get hold of a camera for the following week, as we have been told we cannot take any more cameras out after half term. This could mean we have to find alternative ways of getting hold of the footage, but Naomi and I are hoping that we'll be allowed to take them out because of the issues we've faced.
