We have redesigned our storyboard due to some technical difficulties, and have had to change some ideas for star image motifs. These issues can be seen here.
Digipak Plan - Rough Sketch
Our digipak will consist of three panels, rather than the four advised. This is so we can feature a cover, a back cover, and also three panels within the middle, with the disc being on the centre panel. The left and right hand sides will feature portraits of both the male and female characters within the video, and under the disc, there will be a collection of Polaroid pictures featuring the two of them being burned.
This all links in to the idea of our music video - the man and woman are happy, but the man is having an affair, so that love instantly turns to hate when she finds out, and wants him out of her life. The motif of the stool on the stage will feature on the front cover, and on the back cover will be the reverse view of the stool looking out from the back of the stage, onto the woman walking down the hall. Fonts for the name of the artist and the song names will be soft and written in sans-serif, but the album title will be written in hard, serif fonts.
Christina already has her own brand and image, but we plan on using our own actress to portray the image we will create for the music, artist and album. We want to use the similar ideas connoting to our video, such as the stool in the hall, the looks of anguish on the actress' face, and also the use of typography and diegetic sound, to add a different feel to it all.
Having decided on our target audience, we now have to decide on a way of appealing to them. By using continuity throughout each product we are designing and creating, we are ensuring that everything flows, and therefore if someone likes the look of the video, they will look for the poster and the album.
On the back cover of our digipak, information such as a barcode, record label logos, copyright information, websites, production details and a record label address should be featured. To create this digipak, we plan on using a program called Poladroid to create the Polaroid pictures for the inside, and Serif PagePlus to create the rest.
