We've now developed a rough idea for our digipak, and have begun to prepare what we can for the photo shoot needed.
The front cover was initially planned to be the stool on the stage with the spotlight on it, however, with all the issues over there not being a spotlight, we have chosen to take the pictures at the same time as completing our footage shooting, to ensure continuity, and the right lighting effects.
The back cover will be the reverse of the front cover - the camera looking out onto the empty hall, with the stool in the foreground. Again, this will be taken at the shoot to make sure that everything is the same.
The centre image will be that of the stool having been kicked over, as it is during the music video. This adds a nice effect, and ties in all the pieces of work we are doing.
When the digipak is completely folded out, the left hand panel will be that of the man's head, the right hand panel will be the lead female's head, and the centre panel will be a collection of Polaroid-like pictures, of the man and woman very happy, with an effect across the bottom of them being burned. It adds to the sense that the woman is getting rid of this chapter of her life, and starting again.
Below is a rough sketch of the digipak cover and back cover, and a detailed sketch will follow.
