Blogging Issues
Due to an apparent bug within my blog, some posts are being deleted by themselves, leaving large gaps. It is a known issue to Blogger, and my blog will suffer some downtime because of it. I will be working towards getting all posts back on my blog as soon as possible.

Main Task - Editing Diary [Day 8]
Today, Naomi and I were finally able to get hold of a camera to upload the footage we took last Thursday. By doing so, we were able to complete the editing stage, by placing the 10 seconds we needed at the end.
The lighting was very poor, but this cannot be helped as the equipment itself was quite poor in terms of quality, and everyone has suffered from the same problem.
We also noticed today that the bigger the video upon playback, the more pixelated it became, which poses an even greater issue, but unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done now.
A DVD has now been burnt of our work and will be showcased in January for some audience feedback.

Ancillary Task - Digipak Update
Having now started some work on the digipak, we have been able to come up with what is below using the images we shot from our shoot at the end of last month.
We have chosen to create a conventional 6-panel digipak, as opposed to the 4 panels that the rest of the group are creating. This is because this is what our research has shown us is the standard within the music industry.
Also, we have been able to complete the front cover of the digipak, by blending the three images together and putting a slight shadow border around it. This draws the audience's eyes towards the face, and also keeps with the black and white effect of the photos.
Alongside this, we have kept to our chosen typography, using both fonts that we chose last week.
As you can see, we've now chosen to use the diary image for the back cover, where we will place the tracklist and all necessary record company information that you would see on the back of a standard CD.
We have the immediate flap on the inside, which shows the image of the stool on the floor - using the house colours used across all three elements of the project, and also becoming the star image motif as this is what is used prominently within the video.
On the inside 3 panels of our digipak, we plan to use the three images used on the front cover. Each picture looks ever so slightly like a mugshot, used by the police, which adds a mystery about these images. It also ties in all the projects, depicting the story of the video by the solemn faces. On the left panel would be the CD with the music, and the right panel would feature the DVD that we are using theoretically for the digipak.

Main Task - Shooting Diary [Day 8]
Having decided on Friday that we needed to film the final 10 seconds of the video again, we set about attempting to film on Monday, but unfortunately, both Naomi and I weren't in school, so this wasn't possible. We rescheduled the shoot, and that was for today.
We only needed 15 minutes, and having set up the camera just before the shoot, we were ready to go straight away. We took 10 different sets of footage, to make sure that we had at least one that looked perfect and was fitting for the end.
The only major issue we had was that we were using the main school hall at a time where all the students were walking about, so it was very difficult to make sure they stayed out of shot. However, on the final take, this was perfect, and the results were brilliant.
This now definitely concludes all shooting.

Ancillary Task - Typography
Having finally chosen a concrete design for our digipak, we can now set about planning what is needed as different components for it. The first thing we need to consider is typography.
Naomi and I thought about the criteria for our font, and came up with the list below.
Naomi and I thought about the criteria for our font, and came up with the list below.
- Had to be elegant - this is key to be in keeping with our main themes of the video
- Plain and simple - nothing too fancy to not draw the audience to the title immediately
- Something that would look good across all three projects if necessary

Ancillary Task - Shooting Update
As we have redesigned our digipak, we needed to think about different images that could be used on the six panels. The reverse panel will be an image of torn up diary pages, linking to the title of the album, 'The Diary of My Broken Heart'.
We only needed to take one image, as we're going to overlay text over it, so below is the image we have chosen.

Main Task - Editing Diary [Day 7]
We were unable to edit on Thursday, which meant today was going to be quite a big rush to iron out all the small issues.
As the final day before the deadline we were initially given, Naomi and I worked solidly to ensure that the lip-syncing was perfect, and the transitions were long enough. All the footage was in place, and edited together correctly with the right colourisation, focus, lighting effects and edits used. However, the transitions were only a second long, and we wanted to change this, as we thought it was too quick for the music.
This meant we had to go over every transition and elongate it, making sure we didn't knock anything out of sync. Some of the footage was already too slow for the music, so this all had to be altered within the hour we had.
Thankfully, we were able to complete the necessary editing, and will now endeavour to film the final 8 seconds again early next week, and upload and edit this in, and then the video will be complete.
