With the deadline beginning to loom, we gained an extra hour today which allowed us to get all the footage up to just over a minute and a half's worth. The whole thing is beginning to take shape, and we are slowly getting everything bang on what we wanted.
The selection of shots made it very difficult for us to stick to our final storyboard, but we are staying as true as we can. We hadn't realised the array of shots we had, but with some of them being shot on a camera which had the wrong light filter, we have been able to cut them down and stick to the ones that work well with the music.
Today we started piecing together the black and white footage of the flashbacks, which will form the basis of the storyline within the video. It seems slightly cryptic at the moment, but hopefully, once completed, the story becomes apparent, rather than it just being a time-filler, as it seems at the moment.
With the flashbacks, we chose to drop the brightness by 66% to get the right tone when used with the black and white effect. We've had to stabilise a couple of shots in order to get the flow of the shot transitions right, but on some shots, we have chosen not to use a transition, as it looks more effective to the audience.
