Having agreed on a new idea, we went out yesterday and shot some new images to create our new digipak, a draft of which can be seen here.
The images we chose to shoot was of our various actors faces, so they merge together when at the editing phase. We shot these images on a DSLR camera, as opposed to a normal digital compact camera, to ensure that we would get the sharpness that let us down on our last attempt, and also to give us more scope with editing techniques.
Naomi and I decided that if we shot the images in black and white, we would gain a better lighting from the already dull room. Strip lighting wasn't good enough for colour photography, nor was the portable lighting we attempted, but the B&W effect gives the images more character, and looks really effective in the draft digipak cover.
The images below are of the half-hour photo shoot we did yesterday afternoon.
