Ancillary Task - New Idea

As mentioned before, Naomi and I have decided to redevelop our digipak and magazine advert ideas. We have now chosen a new idea which will keep the continuity throughout the whole project, and have started work on creating the digipak, and the advert.

The new idea takes three black and white photos of each of our actors faces, and crops and blends them together to create one face. Obviously, with the issues we had over actors, we had to use pictures of ourselves instead of our original actors, to keep the continuity. However, Naomi and I both took photos, so we were able to ensure that each photo was our own work.

The picture above is only in draft form, but the potential is there, and this could lead to the image being used on the advert as well. We are still looking at other ideas for the advert to try and see what else we can create within the next 24 hours.

Inspiration for the album cover came from the Kings of Leon album, 'Only By The Night'. We liked the way that the pictures showed each member of the band, but also managed to create the image of an eagle. It was a very effective way of using photography, and the colours and fonts chosen were used throughout their image - from tour posters, to their website and TV adverts.
